A new COM port will be created and the USB pole display will appear as connected to this new COM port. The COM port number is assigned by Windows depending on the current Windows' configuration. In order to work with the display, the POS software has to be setup to access this new COM port. Windows 2000/XP/Vista & Windows 98/ME use different drivers. Logic Controls also provides a legacy driver that uses a specific device name (\\.\LCPD3\, \\.\LCPD6\, \\.\LCLD9\) to access the pole display directly. Use this device name driver if you are using QuickBooks POS software with the LD9000 Series or LT9000 Series displays. QuickBooks POS was tailored to use this device name. Make sure the correct driver is downloaded to match your operating system and the corresponding driver is selected to match the POS software. After downloading the zip files, unzip them into a new folder on the hard drive. Installation instructions are included as text files.
